The Richibucto Scallop Festival - le festival de pétoncles de Richibucto - highlights the important contribution of the fishing industry to the region. The festival is a huge, community celebration where the people of the Richibucto area warmly welcome their visitors.
Monday, July 6, at 8 p.m. - Folk Singers Les Revenants / Foreunners of Richibucto at the Richibucto Wharf Tent
Admission: $5
The 25 members bilingual group of men and women, formed 40 years ago will perform as part of the opening ceremonies for the Richibucto Scallop Festival.
Not to be missed is the wonderful, illuminated boat parade on Saturday July 11th and the closing event of the week-long festival is the firework display on Sunday 12th July.
Also included in the program are evenings of music, a huge bingo event and a bazaar that runs along Main Street.

In 2009 Saturday's famous boat parade
drew almost 4,000 attendees to see fifteen adorned boats illuminate the night
sky and the water.
In 2010 a golf contest and fishermen competition will be included.
